Kh. Muhammad Umar Suleman is a highly accomplished and experienced professional with a PhD in AI and Robot Learning from LUMS, along with a BS and MS in AI-Robotics from FAST. With 17 years of experience in both the software industry and academics, Umar is uniquely positioned to deliver innovation. Apart from his academic achievements, Umar has also founded three software companies during his career, where he prefers technical roles and R&D over management. He is currently on the board of Automatrix, specializing in AI and statistics-based industrial IoT products, and also advises other ICT companies on technical matters ranging from embedded systems to computer vision. Umar's academic career started in the fifth semester of his bachelors as a mentor for freshmen and carries on to this day without a mentionable break, focusing mostly on innovative projects solving real problems. He has worked as an Assistant Professor at FAST-NU and UMT for most of his full-time academic experience spanning around 8 years. To date, Umar has taught numerous courses like programming, AI and operating systems, supervised numerous projects in computer vision, machine learning, IoT, robotics, etc., mentored many startups and product development companies, conducted dozens of training workshops, in STEM, programming, and research, for example, and volunteered in international and national training activities including First Lego League and ACM ICPC. Umar has worked with several reputable organizations, including MetaApp, which was acquired by Citrix Systems, and currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Management and Technology. He has also worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Punjab, where he spent around 10 years before assuming academics full-time. With a tech stack that includes AI, computer vision, ML, research scientist, and software engineer, Umar has relevant experience of 12.29 years. He has a passion for developing robots, gadgets, computer vision programs, etc., to solve real problems in multiple domains, including medicine, security, agriculture, and more. Umar is a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional who is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and making a positive impact in his field.
